Freshly-emerged and featuring members from prominent punk heavy hitters Cold Meat, Nerve Quakes and Helta Skelta, all eyes are on Krimi to see what unfolds.
We chatted to vocalist Ash Ramsey ahead of their performance at ALT//FEST on Saturday, March 20.
CHECK OUT ADRIAN THOMSON’S CAROUSEL OF KRIMI ABOVE
With everyone coming from a variety of other established bands, what are you excited about with this project compared to other bands?
Two of us (Charlotte and I) are from Perth, Emily has just moved over from Melbourne and Georgia from Sydney, so it’s nice to be able to play with friends from across the country.
What were your key musical influences for this band?
Post-punk. Kleenex, Delta 5, The Raincoats, Pylon and bands of that ilk.
What themes are you exploring through this project?
Productivity, the attention economy and gym-wear.
Playing in a stacked line-up of Perth-based artists, what are your reflections on playing across Perth?
There are some new venues popping up which is good. I do think venues should stop charging bands to play.
What does your ideal show set-up look like to you?
Badlands is a great venue. The Bird is also good. We are always keen for punk/post-punk line-ups.
ALT//FEST is on Saturday, March 20 at Badlands Bar. Tickets available now here.
